About Us
Company Profile
Unity International, Ltd, Inc, USA, (DBA Unity Paints & Coatings International) was founded by Abe Moradian in 1996 to fulfill a lifelong ambition of providing an innovative and affordable solution to the rust problem. While heading Louisiana-based chemical specialty company, Napasco International, in the 1970s, Mr. Moradian created a winning formula of rust-preventive coatings which became widely used at Litton Ship Systems. After moving to California in the early 1980s, Mr. Moradian began a series of R&D efforts that resulted in a series of patent awards, first in the US (patent no: 6,312,509 was granted on November 6, 2001), and progressively throughout the world. To date, patents have been issued in Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Mexico and under the Eurasian Patent Organization through the Patent Cooperation Treaty. Patent applications are ongoing in other countries.
UPCI is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Our Philosophy
UPCI is committed to providing Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y. products, and we stand behind each and every single one of our product with an assurance that they provide long-term protection against rust.
Dedicated to Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y in every aspect of its business, UPCI's vision is to be at the forefront of rust-prevention by providing its customers with smart solutions, and the paints and coatings industry with a revolutionary technology.
Very simply, the Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y approach that has become the company's philosophy stands for:
Quality-Control
User-friendly and environmentally-safe products
Affordable prices
Long-term protection against rust
Impeccable product performance
Technological innovations
Yield to our investors
Strict quality control is exercised on every production batch, ensuring that each product that leaves our plant provides the impeccable performance we promise. We are able to formulate products which not only give long-term protection to treated surfaces, but are also user- and environment-friendly. This proactive approach of exceeding our customers expectations and doing our part for the ecology balance eventually translates into savings for the organization, and ultimately for the consumer in the long-run. We also keep our prices very affordable by marketing our products through agents and cutting down on heavy advertising expenditures. All this translates into a higher value for our corporate stock, and eventually a higher yield to our investors.
However, even the best laid-out operational and marketing strategies would not work without a key factor: people. Our team of personnel is highly trained and skilled in their fields of specialty. With the Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y. approach and their varied experience, each staff member contributes a wide range of expertise to the organization, making the realization of our vision a growing reality.
Founder Background
Abe Moradian, a chemist with more than 30 years experience, serves as president of Unity International Ltd, Inc, USA (DBA Unity Paints & Coatings International), a corporation specializing in the formulation of rust-preventive coatings, and AMC International, Inc, USA, a consulting company he founded in 1990. He is credited with formulating the world's only line of asphaltic rust-preventive coatings, which is microcrystalline wax-based and contains aluminum and metallic color pigments.
Upon graduating from Manchester Institute of Arts & Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1966, Mr. Moradian was recruited as a chief chemist by Chafee & Sons Laboratories in San Antonio, Texas. In 1968, he joined Long Horn Paint Company, a division of Southland Corporation, as technical director. After receiving his master’s degree in chemistry and microbiology from the Incarnate Word
University in 1970, Mr. Moradian began a distinguished 12-year career with NAPASCO International in New Orleans, Louisiana, starting as chief chemist and working his way to president in 1979, while increasing annual sales revenue from $1 million to $49 million. It was at NAPASCO International that he created the original Rustonic™ formulation (then named “Rustco”), which would perform so well that Litton Ship Systems, which initially tested the products, became a major client of NAPASCO International. Recognizing that he has hit on a ground-breaking formula which could evolve into a future revolution for the paints and coatings industry, Mr. Moradian retained all rights to his product formulation.
After selling his interests in NAPASCO International in 1982, Mr. Moradian moved to Los Angeles and embarked on a new career path as a consultant specializing in business turnarounds.
Upon establishing Unity International, Ltd, Inc, USA in 1996, Mr. Moradian, in association with two accomplished chemists and four certified US laboratories, began focusing and resuming the R&D work on the original Rustonic™ formulation, which resulted in the current patents being awarded. |
